The Capital District Photo Regionals is the “cream of the crop” for the local photography community. This is where you submit your best works for that overall appearance and glory.
I’ve had six of my entries declared as “Photo Regionals” accepted pieces, and each one of them was a personal photographic success story for me. Three were film shots, three were digital captures. Two were black and white realizations, four were in color.

So … where do I go from here?
Well …
I have several options. But seeing as I have a couple of hammer pieces that have earned some serious love this year, I’m going with …

Look, the picture’s already snagged two ribbons, including a blue. Gotta run while you have feet.
And I’m going with

Look, it’s already claimed a blue at Saratoga, and it was my first successful acceptance at the Art Square New York online gallery show. Again … run while I have feet.
Now because the Photo Regionals has a specific sizing requirement – entrants are limited to three photos maximum, with the total length-width to not exceed 72 inches – the two above are framed as 11×14 pictures, which gives me a total of 50 inches used (2x[11×14]). So I can only add something that has a width-length of 22 combined inches, so another 11×14 is out of the question.
I can, however, submit an 8×10 image, which would only be 18 combined inches, giving me a total of 68 inches for the three combined captures.
Where to go, where to go …
You know what? Let’s shoot the moon here, I’ll frame up this shot from two years ago, which would still be Photo Regionals-eligible.

Yep. We’ll go Railfan, Herbie, and the 17 Jewel Movement macro photo. I have a feeling this one might still have a tiny bit of love left in it.
Drop-off day is today, so I’ll take these three treasures over to Albany Center Gallery and see how things go. I’m obviously hoping for the best.
And I’m not about to settle for anything less than that.
